Alpine sunset

2006

25.5 x 21.5 cm About 5000 stones

Alpine sunset is mainly my imagination, with the exception of the yellow house, which I took a picture of during one of my trips. At that time the house was in full sun shine with reflections from the snow. To paint the house, I used mainly yellow jasper.  The mountain stream (various blue crystals – mainly dumortierite and greenish peridot) is peacefully running among the rocks and snowfields (white howlite and blue-lace agate). The slopes of the mountains are made of obsidian snowflake and other gemstones). The pink colour of the sunset sky comes from rhodochrosite.
