Siberia  2005

About ~5000 stones, 17 x 27.5 cm

I planned this painting for many years. It is based on photographs in an old magazine article that was devoted to Siberia. The only items on the painting that remind of the photographs are the little chapel and the praying person. The rest is my imagination. I managed to show the mood of the scenario: sadness, nostalgia, cold and bad weather with just a few yellowish stones (citrine hygrade) hinting of sun and indicating that it is a day time. The snow is made mainly of blue-lace agate and howlite. The person is made of Apache tear (volcanic glass).
